“The Nutcracker”

The Nutcracker is a magical performance that allows PMD ballet dancers ages 7 and up a beautiful opportunity to perform for family, friends, and schoolchildren. PMD’s Nutcracker performance is unlike most others and is produced to be a special treat for children and the “young at heart”. Each year we perform for 2,000 schoolchildren free of charge. Our cast of 120 dancers, and special guest appearances by Illya Burov, Mark Harootian, and Ian Matysiak from Festival Ballet Providence, did an exceptional job last year and performed for a “sold out house”.

The schools that attended our 2010 production were: Chocksett, Clinton Elementary, Crocker, Elm Street, Fallbrook, Harvard Elementary, Helen Mae Sauter School, John F Briggs, Johnny Appleseed, Kovel Home School, Lunenburg Primary, Luther Burbank, The Mercy Center School, Northwest, Reingold, South Street, St. Anthony, St. Leo’s, and Three Little Birds.
