2011 - 2012 School Policies

Registration Fee
The yearly registration fee for each student is $20, with a family cap of $35 and is payable at the time of registration.

Tuition Schedule
Tuition is based on an annual fee and is budgeted into equal monthly payments with the exception of June which is ¾ the regular monthly tuition. We request that May and June tuition be combined and paid by May 15th. Classes all days of the week will meet the same minimum number of required classes per year regardless of how the weeks fall on the calendar! The school year starts Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 and culminates with a year end performance tentatively scheduled for June 15th & 16th, 2012. The tuition is due every month in advance of or on the first class of the month. All checks should be made payable to PMD. Please make sure the student’s full name and payment description is written in the memo section. Save 5% off tuition by paying for a full year at the time of registration. This offer is not valid after November 1st, 2011. Students paying for the full year are subject to the tuition refund policy below.

Tuition Refund Policy For All Students
No tuition refunds will be offered for missed lessons or classes dropped by a student under any circumstances. PMD will however issue a credit to your account for the unused balance which may be used for up to one year for future classes in dance or theatre. Tuition will not be adjusted for students participating in activities that conflict with their regular dance schedule. Monthly tuition must be maintained to hold your place in class.

Late Fees and Charges
A $10 late fee will be added to any account paid after the 15th of the month. A $25 charge will be added for checks returned for insufficient funds.

Make-up Classes / Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes regularly from September thru June. Please call in all absences. If a student misses a class, he/she is allowed to take a make-up class at an appropriate level. Students should complete all make-up classes before March 1st, 2012. After that date, make-up classes will be approved at the discretion of the individual teacher.

PMD Cancellations/Teacher Absences/Snow Days
Between September 2011 and March 1st, 2012 students may attend extra classes free of charge to compensate for any classes that may be unexpectedly cancelled, missed due to illness, or conflicts. PMD will not hold any “makeup classes”. The schedule is as follows: Talented Toddlers through T/B/J III & Hip Hop: 3 extra classes; All intermediate and advanced groups: 6 extra classes. Students may take classes in any appropriate level. Please sign in at the office prior to class.

Family Discounts
Discounts apply to family members living in the same household. The family member with the highest number of class hours shall pay according to the fee schedule. The second family member with the 2nd highest number of class hours shall receive a 5% discount off the fee schedule. The third family member with the 3rd highest number of class hours shall receive a 10% discount, and so on.

School Etiquette and Behavior
Any inappropriate behavior or language will not be tolerated at PMD and may result in a student’s suspension or expulsion from PMD. PMD encourages and fosters an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and school spirit.

Dress Code
PMD has a very simple and clear cut Dress Code which all students are required to observe. Proper attire, hair, and shoes are necessary not only for each dancer’s safety, but to also help dancers be prepared and focused in class.

Costume Deposits
Costume deposits of $50 per class are due by November 1st, 2011. There will be no refunds on costume deposits after December 1st, 2011. You will receive a statement in the mail in February reflecting your costume balance. All balances will be due by March 1st, 2012. Costumes will be distributed in the spring only if all account balances are current. Parents are responsible for any balances once a costume is ordered.

Please check your email frequently. All important studio information and updates will be sent via email. They will also be posted on the bulletin board outside the office.
