Paula Meola Dance & Performing Arts Hair & Dress Code 2011 - 2012

All dancers are expected to observe PMD’s Dress Code at all times!

No socks, sweats, colored leotards, t-shirts, necklaces, watches, wristbands or hoop earrings allowed at any time. Students who do not comply with dress code will be sent out of class and may return when in dress code. If this is not possible, students may take class but will be expected to be in dress code the following week. Please remember that Dress Code requirements are for the safety of all dancers. Parental support is much appreciated!

Talented Toddlers
Pink leotard, (skirts allowed if attached to leotard), pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted then trimmed. Please secure hair away from the face.

Song & Dance I & Song & Dance II
Pink leotard (skirts allowed if attached to leotard), pink tights. Ballet: pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted then trimmed.
Tap: black patent leather tap shoes with black elastic sewn in. Please secure hair away from the face.

Kinderdance
Black leotard, (skirts allowed if attached to leotard), pink tights. Ballet: pink leather ballet slippers with elastics knotted then trimmed. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle). Hair in a bun or secured away from the face and up off the neck.

6-8 Yr. T/B/J, T/B/J, T/B/J I, T/B/J II, T/B/J III, & Ballet Basics
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters) pink tights. Please no undergarments are to show under leotards. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. Hair secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD shorts or plain black bootie shorts allowed for jazz, tap, and modern (No tanks or shirts please). Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers with elastics knotted and trimmed. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle). Jazz: Capezio caramel gore boot (CG05). Modern: barefoot.

Aquarius, Gemini, Sagittarius
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters) pink tights. Please no undergarments are to show under leotards. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. Hair secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD shorts or plain black bootie shorts and PMD or black tanks only allowed for jazz, tap, and modern. Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers with elastics knotted and trimmed. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle). Jazz: Capezio caramel gore boot (CG05). Modern: dance paws. Leo, Libra
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters), pink tights. Please no undergarments are to show under leotards. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. Hair secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD shorts or plain black bootie shorts and PMD or black tanks only allowed for jazz, tap, and modern. Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers with elastics knotted and trimmed. Tap: TBA (you will be notified prior to open house). Jazz: suntan Capezio Pedini (with buckle), Modern: dance paws. Aries, Pisces, Scorpio, Taurus, Advanced I Tap, Advanced II Tap
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters), pink tights. Please no undergarments are to show under leotards. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. Hair secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD shorts or plain black bootie shorts and PMD or black tanks only allowed for jazz, tap, and modern. Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers with elastics knotted and trimmed. Pointe: as appropriate. Tap: black Capezio oxford CG55. Jazz: suntan Capezio Pedini (with buckle) and heeled shoe to be ordered thru Dancer’s Boutique in the fall (exact style tba). Lyric: same as jazz or dance paws. See Wednesday dress code.
Modern: dance paws

Hip Hop – I/II, II, III, IV, V
Baggy, comfortable pants - no jeans! Crop tops, t-shirts, bandanas are OK. Any black low-rise hip hop sneaker. Hair - no code.
Creative dress code OK!

Hip Hop – Advanced I & Advanced II
Baggy, comfortable pants - no jeans! Crop tops, t-shirts, bandanas are OK. White high top Nike Airforces. Hair - no code. Creative dress code OK!

Wednesday classes: Dance with the masters Combos & Progressions, Intro to lyric, modern
Relaxed Dress Code: Dancers may wear any appropriate colored dancewear. Shoes as needed. Hair tightly secured.

Boys Dress Code

Talented Toddlers, Song & Dance I, Song & Dance II, Kinderdance, 6-8 T/B/J, T/B/J I, T/B/J II, T/B/J III
Black shorts or pants, white t-shirt, Ballet: black leather ballet slippers, Tap: black Capezio oxford CG55, Jazz: black Capezio or
Bloch gore boots.

Intermediate & Advanced groups
Ballet: black ballet tights, white fitted t-shirt, and black canvas or leather ballet slippers. All other classes: Black shorts or fitted jazz pants with white fitted t-shirt. Tap: black Capezio oxford CG55. Jazz: black Capezio or Bloch gore boot.
