Hair & Dress Code 2009-2010

All dancers are expected to observe PMD’s Dress Code

No necklaces, watches, wristbands or hoop earrings allowed at any time.  Students who do not comply with dress code will be sent out of class and may return when in dress code.  If this is not possible, students may take class but will be expected to be in dress code the following week.  Please remember that Dress Code requirements are for the safety of all dancers. Parental support is much appreciated! 

Talented Toddlers
Pink leotard, pink tights,pink leather ballet slippers. Hair must be pulled away from the face.

Song & Dance I & Song & Dance II
Pink leotard, pink tights. Ballet: pink leather ballet slippers. Tap: black patent leather tie tap shoes with black elastic sewn in. Hair must be pulled away from the face.

Kinderdance
Black leotard, pink tights. Ballet: pink leather ballet slippers. Tap: black patent leather tie tap shoes with black elastic sewn in. Hair in a bun or firmly secured away from the face and up off the neck. 

Beginner Ballet/Tap & Ballet Basics
Black leotard, pink tights. Ballet: pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle).  Hair must be in a bun or secured firmly away from the face & up off the neck.

6-8 Yr. Old. T/B/J, T/B/J I, T/B/J II, T/B/J III
Black leotard, pink tights. Ballet: pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (w/ buckle). Jazz: black Capezio or Bloch split-sole oxford jazz shoe, Modern: barefoot. Hair must be in a bun or secured firmly away from the face & up off the neck. PMD (only) shorts or tank allowed over leotard for tap and jazz.

BLUE
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters) pink tights. Ballet: pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Tap: black Capezio oxford tap shoe (CG55). Jazz: black Capezio or Bloch oxford jazz shoe. Hair must be in a bun or secured firmly away from the face & up off the neck. PMD (only) shorts or tank are allowed over leotard for tap and jazz.

YELLOW, RED, PINK, GREEN,
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters)  pink tights, hair must be in a bun for ballet classes.  Hair must be firmly secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD (only) shorts and tanks allowed for jazz, tap, and modern.  Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle). Jazz: caramel Capezio CG05 gore boot. Modern: barefoot.   

FUCHSIA & PURPLE
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters), pink tights, hair must be in a bun for ballet classes.  Hair must be firmly secured away from the face and neck for all other classes.  PMD (only) shorts and tanks allowed for jazz, tap, and modern. Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Tap: tan Bloch techno taps (with buckle). Jazz: suntan Capezio Pedini (with buckle), Lyric: same as jazz or dance paws (see instructor). Modern: barefoot. 

TEAL, ORANGE, LIME
Black leotard (styles: camisole, cap, short or long sleeved, no halters), pink tights, hair must be in a bun for ballet classes.  Hair must be firmly secured away from the face and neck for all other classes. PMD (only) shorts and tanks allowed for jazz, tap, and modern. Ballet: Pink leather split-sole ballet slippers. Pointe: as appropriate. Tap: black Capezio oxford CG55. Jazz: suntan Capezio Pedini (with buckle) and heeled shoe to be ordered thru Dancer’s Boutique (exact style tba). Lyric: same as jazz or dance paws (see instructor) Modern: barefoot. 

Hip Hop - All classes
Baggy, comfortable pants - no jeans! Crop tops, t-shirts, bandanas are OK. Any black low-rise hip hop sneaker.
Hair - no code. Creative dress code OK!
Boys Dress Code

Talented Toddlers, Song & Dance I, Song & Dance II, T/B/J I, T/B/J II, T/B/J III, Beginners & blue:Black shorts or pants, white t-shirt, Ballet: black leather ballet slippers, Tap: black Capezio oxford CG55, Jazz:  black Capezio or Bloch oxford jazz shoes.
