Dance

Here at PMD unlike many others schools, we have established a curriculum for instructors to follow. Beginning with the tiny age of talented two’s and up through our professional dance levels, PMD has established clear and common goals amongst the faculty which allow all students to progress equally. It also provides continuity in their training that is invaluable. PMD is particularly focused on the curriculum for the dancer’s ballet training since ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance. Our faculty teaches a variety of techniques that dancers should be exposed to such as Vaganova/Russian, Cechetti/Italian, and Royal Academy of Dance/English. PMD is fortunate to have live piano accompaniment to advanced ballet classes.

PMD has programs in Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Variations, and the ever-popular Hip-Hop.

Intermediate – Advanced Levels
This year PMD has made a change in identifying class Levels I – VIII & Teen. Dancers are now placed in groups identified by a specific color, which is indicated on your Registration Form. This will allow the school greater flexibility in ensuring all dancers receive the most challenging and appropriate curriculum possible. In certain classes two ballet classes are required in order to perform ballet in the recital. All students on pointe are required to take a minimum of two ballet classes per week.
